hypocrisy day

With the ostentatious inauguration balls, and the confirmation hearings for condoleeza rice, and the rumors that this administration is planning on invading Iran and the attack on Social Security, I just haven’t felt like posting very much. Sometimes it all just seems overwhelming.

So, this is minimal but important. bush will be saying taking the oath of office today. Here is the oath:

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

And though it seems remote at this time, there are certain remedies if he fails to protect the constitution (as if there’s any question he will fail to uphold the oath):

The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors. – US Constitution

Meanwhile, Senator Barbara Boxer seems to be the only Democrat willing to confront the lies and liars directly (Oh, excuse me,… Kerry did too). It may be time for another party.
