Typing test fun

I was testing out a piece of software called TextExpander, and reading the various links in the help-files, when I came across a typing test.

Now, I always knew I was a slow typist, but this slow?

Anyway, I’ll write more about TextExpander after I have played with it some more. So far it seems really cool, but mostly for those who often have to type the same phrases over and over. For example, by simply typing a series of letters (which you define), the program will replace them with whatever you have assigned to that combination, whether it be a word, or a short story.

Giants vs. McCain

Since 2002, the NFL has held its season opener on the
first Thursday night after Labor Day. This year, the game runs smack
into the final night of the convention, when McCain will officially
accept the nomination and give a nationally televised speech from
Minneapolis.

While the NFL has yet to announce its schedule for the 2008 season,
it’s apparently not going to shy away from having its season opener on
the scheduled day, with the game likely featuring the Super Bowl
champion New York Giants.

So, the NFL and NBC have agreed in principle to have the kickoff at
7 p.m. ET instead of the traditional 8:30 p.m. That would mean, except
in the event of an overtime, that the game would end before NBC’s
expected one hour of convention coverage for the night.

Unbelievable.

Superbowl Champions

It may have been noticed, that I have not written anything about the Giants this year. Well there were a number of reasons. One, they started off terribly. Two losses in a row. Then, they had a tremendous defensive stand in the third game and looked like they might be turning around. I dared not write anything (no matter how I was feeling), out of fear of jinxing them.

Then, by time they played the Patriots in the last game of the season, they were on a roll on the road. Their defense, which had made such a great show in that third game, became a dominant force and Eli stopped throwing interceptions and fumbling the ball.
