So, the Giants lose a heartbreaker (24-21) to the lowly Vikings. And the thing is, while most people are looking at the dismal performance of Eli Manning, Tom Coughlin is the one reponsible for that loss.
You read that right. The coaching was terrible. When it was obvious in the first and second quarters that Manning’s passing game was totally off, you’d think the coaching staff would readjust and not call a passing play on nearly every down. This inflexibility is directly attributable to the head coach, Coughlin.
The defense showed up and put on an outstanding performance. Any other team whose defense held their offensive opponents to only three points would have won that game. The only thing the defense didn’t do was get a touchdown… then the Giants would have won.
